In 2009, Yuzvendra Chahal gained widespread recognition as a leg-spinner who took 34 wickets in the Cooch Behar Trophy finals for the team Haryana. Chahal, a former chess player who represented India at junior levels, made his first-class debut for Haryana in 2009.
Chahal joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2014, and he quickly established himself as a key member of the squad, particularly in their bowling. With 23 wickets in 2015, Chahal had his breakthrough season and was the RCB's top ticket-taker. He played a huge role in RCB's run to the final in 2016, as he once again was the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 23 wickets.
Chahal's success in the IPL got him a national call in 2016 ODIs and T20Is. A standout moment came in the T20I series against England in 2017 when he took 6 wickets for 25 and helped India to secure victory
In the 2022 IPL auction, Chahal was purchased by Rajasthan Royals for INR 6.5 crore. Chahal's IPL journey continued to shine, as of the 2023 season, Chahal has surpassed Dwayne Bravo to become the IPL's all-time leading wicket-taker.
He has a ticket to success because of his balling action, which is not very fast but mostly accurate and occasionally flighty. This is a classic example of how to trap a batsman in the air. Chahal relies on bowling; he doesn't have a googly to be afraid of, but his consistency has made him one of the best leg spinners.
