About

Travis Head is an aggressive left-handed hitter and a capable part-time off-spinner from Australia. On December 29, 1993, he was born in Adelaide, South Australia. He has played several game-winning knocks for his country.

Head, who led South Australia from a young age to become a hero in the 2023 World Cup final. His ability to boost the run pace and provide stability in the middle order makes him a vital component of the Australian setup.

At the age of 18, Head made his South Australian first-class debut in 2011. His aggressive batting and leadership abilities immediately brought him recognition.

In 2015, he was appointed as the youngest captain of South Australia in Sheffield Shield history. Because of his consistent play, he was named Sheffield Shield Player of the Year several times. His domestic performances earned him an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2016.

Test Cricket

Travis Head made his Test debut for Australia on October 7, 2018, against Pakistan.

 Australia won the 2021–22 Ashes and scored a game-winning 152 in the opening test.

Also helped Australia win the 2023 ICC World Test Championship Final with an incredible 163 off 174 balls.

One Day Internationals (ODIs)

On June 13, 2016, Head played his first ODI match against the West Indies. He was an important asset for Australia because of his versatility to bat in both the middle and top order.

Became one of Australia’s leading batters in ODIs, delivering consistent performances.

Formed a lethal opening partnership with David Warner.

Played a match-winning knock of 137 in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Final against India, helping Australia lift their 6th World Cup title.

T20 International (T20I)

Head made his T20I debut on January 26, 2016, against India. Despite not being a consistent member of Australia's T20I team, he performed well when given the chance.

Head has made important contributions to a number of T20 tournaments throughout the world.

Indian Premier League (IPL)

Played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2016 and 2017.
