Chris Green, who was born in Durban, South Africa, on October 1, 1993, immigrated to Australia. Green is an all-around player who has played domestic and franchise cricket. Green became successful because of his versatility and his ability to provide economical overs, particularly during the power play. He hasn't yet made his Australian debut, but his consistent T20 game performances have made him an important player. As a spin bowler, Green is one of the most promising players in Australia due to his tenacity and commitment.
Green made his professional debut with the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL) in the 2014–15 season. The Sydney Thunder won the 2015-16 BBL championship because of his substantial part in the tournament. Green, established a name for himself on the squad because of his accurate fielding and meticulous bowling. Green was named the team's captain multiple times as a result of his exceptional leadership abilities over the years. Green competed in both List A and first-class events for New South Wales (NSW). He is mainly an expert in T20.
His performances in the BBL opened doors for him in global franchise cricket. Green has played in multiple leagues, including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), where he represented the Guyana Amazon Warriors and even captained the side. He was contracted for the 2020 season with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he gained experience in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Green has further cemented his reputation as a T20 expert by playing for the Oval Invincibles in England's The Hundred. He played for Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) before joining Islamabad United.
Green’s biggest strength as a cricketer is his ability to bowl tight, economical overs, particularly in powerplays. His quick-arm action and ability to vary his pace make it difficult for batsmen to attack him early in the innings. His efficacy is demonstrated by his best T20 bowling statistics of 4/14. Besides his bowling, Green has proved to be a best lower-order batter, often playing aggressive cameos towards the end of an inning. His ability to clear the boundary and score quickly makes him a valuable all-rounder.
Green consistent performance in a number of T20 competitions maintains him in the running for a spot on the national squad. Although Green is an expert in Twenty20 cricket, he has not yet played for Australia abroad. However, Australia is concentrating on creating a strong spin-bowling attack for limited-overs formats, Green is still a strong candidate for future T20I and ODI opportunities.
Chris Green, who excels at power play bowling and makes contributions with the bat, has established a solid reputation as a franchise cricket player because of his success in different T20 leagues. If Green continues to do well, he might soon make his international debut.
