Mahika Gaur, born on 9th November 2003, is an up-and-coming fast-medium bowler for the England women’s cricket team, known for her promising skills. She made her debut for the national team during the T20I series against India in September 2022. As one of the youngest and most talented fast bowlers in the country, Gaur has shown exceptional pace and accuracy.
Currently, Gaur represents Surrey and Southern Vipers, where she has risen through the ranks to be considered one of the best. Her fast bowling skills, along with her ability to take crucial wickets, make her a valuable asset to her teams. She also played for Southern Brave in The Hundred, demonstrating her ability to perform at the highest level of competition. Gaur is known for her consistency, ability to bowl at high speeds for extended periods, and composure on the field.
In terms of international statistics, Gaur has represented England in both WODIs and WT20Is. In 5 WODIs, she has taken 7 wickets, with her best figures being 3/24. In the T20I format, she has played 10 matches and taken 9 wickets, with an average of 18 runs per wicket — a solid record for a young bowler.
Gaur is still in the early stages of her career, but her future in cricket looks very promising. If she continues to improve, she is likely to become a key player for England in the coming years.
