Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have replaced the English pacer Brydon Carse with the young South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder. Carse got injured just ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. He suffered a left toe injury while playing for England in the Champions Trophy, and due to this, he will be out of action for the upcoming IPL season.
England's tour to India, while playing against India just before the champion's trophy, Carse injured himself and then strained his injury later while playing their first match against Australia in the Champions trophy because of which he could only bowl 7 overs. His injury results in him being ruling out of both Indian Premier League and the Champions Trophy 2025.
South African 27 years old cricketer Wiaan Mulder got signed for 75 lac INR approximately $86,136 in order to serve Sunrisers Hyderabad. This replacement strengthens the SRH team because Wiaan Mulder is highly talented and experienced as he has played 11 T20 Internationals, 18 Tests and around 25 ODI's for South Africa. He also recently participated in the Champions Trophy semi-final which they played against New Zealand. Considering all his experience and background Wiaan Mulder seems a strong candidate for replacing Carse and strengthening SRH in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Carse has played the total of 34 matches 27 innings spanning from 2021 to 2025 with the total of 341 runs. Among these 34, he played 21 ODI's, 8 T20 internationals and 5 Tests. Carse's ability to perform with both Bat and Ball makes him very important asset to any team. In a recent T20 game against India, he scored a quick-fire of 31 and also performed well on the bowling side showing his all-rounding skills dismissing 3 of the important players i-e Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and Washington Sundar.
Wiaan has played 18 matches 29 innings spanning from 2019 to 2025 scoring a total of massive 589 runs. He got signed by SRH in order to replace an English player Brydon Carse who injured himself and dropped out of Champions trophy and IPL. Wiaan will prove crucial for SRH as he will fill the gap of all-rounder left by Carse for the team.
