KL Rahul, a key player for Delhi Capitals is ruling out of Indian Premier League (IPL) for the first few matches due to his personal reasons. KL Rahul and his wife are expecting their first child in the upcoming summer 2025 which is why he signed out of starting matches of the league. KL Rahul is one of the important players for the team and they were looking forward to his performance as he played a crucial role for Indian Team in achieving the Champions Trophy 2025. Starting date of IPL 2025 is 22th of March and they will have to begin without the Rahul who was mega auctioned for 14crore INR by Delhi Capitals. Furthermore, the franchise was about to announce their decision as Rahul was in-line to acquire the position of the new captain of Delhi Capitals.
KL Rahul tied the knot with a Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty in January 2023 and after a year and half they announced their pregnancy on the 8th of November 2024. The couple is expecting their first child in this summer 2025. Considering achieving this lovely milestone, Rahul is not able to join in the starting matches of upcoming IPL.
