Due an injury to his left toe, Brydon Carse, Sunrisers Hyderabad allrounder, has been ruled out of IPL 2025. SRH have signed Wiaan Mulder as replacement.
Brydon Carse
Acquired by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for his base price of INR 1 crore, Carse sufferede from an unfortune left toe injury before his time in the Indian Premier League. The injury, which he sustained to his left toe during England's white-ball tour of India, was initially minor but worsened as the Champions Trophy approached. In the tournament's opening match against Australia in Lahore, the injury significantly impacted his performance. Carse was only able to bowl seven of his allotted overs, and his condition deteriorated further, leading to him being ruled out of the competition entirely.
Mulder is the joint-highest wicket-taker with six wickets, leading South Africa to semi-finals of Champions Trophy. Mulder has played 128 matches, scoring 2,172 runs and taking 67 wickets in his T20 career. His impressive all-round skills will be crucial for his maiden stint in the IPL. Mulder has previously showcased his talents in various leagues, including the SA20, the now-defunct Mzansi Super League (MSL), and England's Vitality Blast, where he gained valuable experience in the shortest format of the game.
The IPL 2025 season is set to begin on March 22. SRH, the runners-up in 2024, will face against Rajasthan Royals at home on March 23.
