Australia will play against England to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first Test match, confirmed by Cricket Australia. The historic test will be held between March 11-15, 2027 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

It will be also the first instance that Australia's men's team will play a pink-ball Test at the MCG.
Earlier this year, Australia Women played the first-ever day-night Test at the venue, coincidentally against England in the Women's Ashes.
The MCG also hosted the Centenary Test in 1977, marking 100 years since the first-ever Test match, with Australia defeating England by 45 runs.
In 1980, the two rivals met again at Lord's for a second Centenary Test, commemorating the first Test played between the two nations in England back in 1880.
“The 150th Anniversary Test at the MCG will be a landmark event in cricket, and playing under lights will be a fantastic way to honor the rich heritage of our game while showcasing the modern evolution of Test cricket,” said Todd Greenberg, CEO of Cricket Australia.
“It will also ensure that more fans can attend and experience what promises to be an unforgettable occasion.”
“The Centenary Test produced numerous iconic moments, including David Hookes hitting five consecutive boundaries off Tony Greig, Rick McCosker bravely batting with a broken jaw, and Derek Randall's resolute century. I'm confident the 150th Test will create its own set of unforgettable memories,” he added.
